Security at Sentwise
Sentwise is built local-first, so the most effective protection for your data is that most of it never leaves your Mac.
Last updated September 16, 2026
Security is a design decision, not a feature we bolt on. Sentwise keeps your stored mail, your learned voice profile, and your call transcript library on your own machine, which shrinks the surface that could ever be exposed. This page describes the measures we take; it is a summary, not a contract, and it evolves as the product does.
Your data stays local
- Your mailbox, learned voice profile, and call transcripts are stored on your Mac. Drafting may send only the relevant transcript/context described below; the managed relay does not retain that content after it returns your draft.
- Secrets such as your email app password are stored in the macOS Keychain, protected by the operating system, not in plain files.
- Connections to your email provider use encrypted transport (TLS), and HTTP-based service requests from the app use HTTPS.
How drafting is handled
When you ask Sentwise to write a draft, only the message and call content needed for that AI drafting request is sent for model processing. That request is relayed through a stateless inference service that keeps nothing after it returns your draft, and your content is never used to train models. We are finalizing zero-data-retention terms with our model provider and will update our Privacy Policy when they take effect.
Application integrity
- Builds are code-signed and notarized by Apple, so macOS can verify the app you run came from us and has not been tampered with.
- Updates are delivered over a secure, signed auto-update channel, so you receive authentic releases.
- The source is public, which means the way Sentwise handles your data can be inspected rather than taken on faith.
Reporting a vulnerability
If you believe you have found a security vulnerability, we want to hear from you. Email support@sentwise.ai with “Security” in the subject line, and include enough detail to reproduce the issue. Please give us a reasonable opportunity to address it before any public disclosure. We appreciate responsible reports and will acknowledge yours.
